This is a very large and important collection and it would be worth traveling
to our gallery on the day of the auction. Something for the novice and the advanced collectors.


Mr. Tannewitz was the collector's collector. He was known throughout the region as the "father of local history" and a friend to all. His life was devoted to collecting everything from gold coins, collectables, and the best East Tennessee Bank currency collection known to exist. This event will be one to remember. We will also be conducting two other sales. The second will be the contents of the house including a great Victorian cylinder roll- fine pottery and glass-toys-advertising items etc and then we will have a historical auction including photographs, collectable paper, books, local history items which including everything from early checks, Andrew Johnson autograph, Big Springs Saloon jug, post cards and much more. The basement and the attic a completely packed and I mean packed. Many treasures will be unearthed and photos will be posted soon.

There will be well over 170 lots of proof sets, type coins, fine silver dollars which have not seen daylight for over a half of a century, silver bullion, modern gold Liberty coins, all denominations of early US gold coins including a $3.00. Many bag lots of US silver coins, blanket notes, commemorative halves, uncut sheet of Bank of East Tennessee notes, Bank of East Tennessee (over 50) notes including Chattanooga-Jonesboro-Knoxville in all denominations,Obsolete Currency, CSA currency, Half dimes, Three cent silver, much foreign silver, Mexican and Australian Sovereign gold, Tennessee Merchants Bank notes, Ocoee notes of many denominations, fractional currency, Franklin and Liberty halves, Large –Flying-Indian cents, unsearched Mercury dimes, a few Roman coins, Silver US Liberty coins, silver bars, large unsearched wheat penny collection, various tokens and rare script, Bluebook collections, great Buffalo nickels, seated halves, Barber coins, Hard time tokens, Bank of Bristol $10.00 bill, large bog lots of assorted items and much more. A catalogue will appear on this site soon.

Terms- Cash or check, BP, sales tax will be collected from non dealers,
no reserves, cash or check no credit cards, out of state buyers not known by us must have a bank letter of credit to write a check or we reserve the right to hold purchases until your check clears. Announcements day of sale take precedence over presale advertising.
